The National Monuments Service's description
On gently rolling farmland, 200m W of Barnavihall House. Marked on 3rd ed. of OS 6-inch map (1933) as two conjoined enclosures. The NW enclosure (D c. 25m; GA073-022----) was circular, in contrast to the larger SE one (NE-SW c. 30m, NW-SE c. 20m; GA073-022001-) which was oval in plan. No visible surface trace survives.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'. Compiled by Olive Alcock, Kathy de hÓra and Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999).
