The National Monuments Service's description
On a hillock in undulating pastureland, within former demesne land. An irregularly shaped earthen enclosure (E-W 44.5m, N-S 31.5m), in fair condition, defined by a low bank and shallow external fosse from W through N to SE. Elsewhere a steep scarp (H 10m max.) forms the enclosing element. An old shed stands in SE quadrant. Another enclosure (GA072-060----) lies immediately to S.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'. Compiled by Olive Alcock, Kathy de hÓra and Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999).
