The National Monuments Service's description

In flat pastureland and tillage. A circular barrow (D 37m), in fair condition, composed of a large central mound (D 6.25m, H 3.1m max. at S) encircled by a substantial fosse and external bank of earth and stone. The bank is extant for only c. 4m at NW. A large central depression in the mound suggests sturbance. A cairn (GA071-035----) lies c. 220m to E.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'. Compiled by Olive Alcock, Kathy de hÓra and Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999).
