The National Monuments Service's description

In low-lying marshy ground liable to flooding, a stream rises to E. Two contiguous oblong grass-covered mounds: (a) to E (NNW-SSE 6.5m, WNW-ESE 4.5m, H 0.8m), and (b) to W (NNE-SSW 5m, NW-SE 3.45m, H 0.4m), between which is a trapezoidal depression (L 4m, Wth 3m max.) opening towards SW. Two other fulachta fiadh (GA071-026003-, GA071-026004-) ) lie to SE. There is a well, marked 'Tobermore' on 3rd ed. of OS 6-inch map (1934), in close proximity to all three fulachta fiadh.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'. Compiled by Olive Alcock, Kathy de hÓra and Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999).
