The National Monuments Service's description

This shell midden (L c. 30m; T 0.001-0.3m) is located on a SW-facing cliff edge in a small cove on the S shore of Cuan an Mhada/Dogs Bay. It was exposed following the winter storms in December 2013/January 2014. It is visible c. 0.5m below the sod cover and is densest towards its S end. Medium grey soils contain various shells, flecks of charcoal and fire-cracked rock. No animal bones or artefacts were noted.
