The National Monuments Service's description
On N-facing slope of a hillock. On inspection in February 1985, this poorly preserved subcircular rath (E-W c. 35m, N-S c. 30m) was defined by a degraded scarp from SW through N to NE. No visible surface trace survived elsewhere. A field bank curved around the monument from NE to SW. The interior was densely overgrown. On re-inspection in October 2001, the monument was completely fenced off.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'. Compiled by Olive Alcock, Kathy de hÓra and Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999).
