The National Monuments Service's description
Within N half of a ringfort (GA060-102----). Described by Broderick (1882, 637-8) as being 'made in the form of three sides of a square, each side about twenty-five yards long' (i.e. L c. 68.6m). It comprised three rectangular chambers, each set at right angles to the other and connected by two creeps. He describes the entrance as being situated 'nearly in the centre [of the ringfort] ... you go down by three or four steps' (ibid.) The souterrain is no longer accessible though some roof lintels are visible. According to local information, the entrance was blocked up in the late 1960s. From local memory, the 1st chamber ran N-S, and the 2nd, E-W from its NW end. (Knox and Redington 1916, 186-7)
