The National Monuments Service's description

On a ridge in pastureland overlooking lower land to N and NW. Marked on 3rd ed. of OS 6-inch map (1933) as an oval enclosure (NW-SW c. 35m, E-W 20m). The monument has been completely levelled and no visible surface trace survives. The presence of barley stubble suggests that the subsurface features may have been disturbed by ploughing.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'. Compiled by Olive Alcock, Kathy de hÓra and Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999).
