The National Monuments Service's description
In gently undulating tillage. During reclamation work, the landowner came upon a structure which he described as two flags set on edge and capped by a third (E-W; L c. 0.8m, Wth 0.5m); there were no stones at E and W ends. The site was subsequently bulldozed. Possibly a cist.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'. Compiled by Olive Alcock, Kathy de hÓra and Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999).
