The National Monuments Service's description
On a rise in undulating grassland. This is the site of an early cell, dedicated to St Cuanna, which later belonged to the Fratres Cruciferi of Castledermot (Gwynn and Hadcock 1970, 389). What survives is a poorly preserved medieval parish church (NE-SW; L 19.5m, Wth 7.3 ext.). Only N end of NW side-wall, along with part of SW gable and adjoining section of SE side-wall stand to anything like full height. A later wall has been built on the line of NE gable and the remains of the side-walls. The original doorway, neatly blocked, is at S end of SE side-wall. The only other surviving architectural features are a singly-light flat-headed window at N end of NW wall and a wall-cupboard in SE wall. There are numerous cut-stone fragments in the surrounding graveyard, including a possible triangular window head and some pieces of late medieval window/door arches. A round tower (GA056-085003-) stands 5m to SE. (Hardiman 1846, 370)
