The National Monuments Service's description
To ESE of Ballindoon Church (GA049-014----). A small, poorly built 18th-C chapel (ENE-WSW; L 7.4m, Wth 5.2m ext.) of the Geoghegan family, builders of the nearby mansion. Dedicated to St Flannan. There is plain doorway in W wall and a possible blocked doorway in S, a flat-headed window in E wall, two others in N and S walls. A graveslab lies within, and a small unenclosed graveyard, indicated on 1st and 2nd (1897) eds of OS 6-inch map, lies immediately to NE; possibly a CBG. (Killanin 1954, 93)
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. I - West Galway'. Compiled by Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1993).
