The National Monuments Service's description
Associated with an extensive series of middens (GA048-008001-). A number of burials were exposed by shifting sands in the vicinity of False Bay in early 1980s. One extended adult inhumation and a child's skeleton were reported, and a stone setting was noted around one grave. One report mentions 'a cemetery of similar graves' nearby (Topgr. Files, UCG and OPW). No visible surface trace survives.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. I - West Galway'. Compiled by Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1993).
