The National Monuments Service's description

Some 300m ESE of a similar monument (GA044-069----). Marked on OS 6-inch maps as a circular hollow planted with trees. The visible remains comprise a subcircular enclosure (N-S 23m, E-W 18m), in fair condition, defined by a flat-topped bank of earth and stone and an external fosse. A number of mature trees are growing on the bank. Probably a tree-ring associated with the nearby house.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'. Compiled by Olive Alcock, Kathy de hÓra and Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999).
