The National Monuments Service's description
This bridge is described as follows by the National Inventory of Architectural Heritage: 'Seven-arch limestone bridge, built c.1740, widened to north by c.1.2m, and two central arches replaced c.1940 with flat-headed concrete spans. Round arches to original, with roughly squared voussoirs. Narrow concrete V-plan cutwaters to north side. Parapet walls of coursed rubble limestone with large stones laid flat for copings' (http://www.buildingsofireland.ie/niah accessed 3 April 2017).
