The National Monuments Service's description

On a ridge surrounded by gorse and scrub in gently undulating grassland. A subcircular rath (N-S 30.5m, E-W 28.5m) defined by a bank from NW through N to NNE; a low scarp defines the monument elsewhere. Possible stone revetment survives internally at NW and SW. Within WNW sector of interior are two small mounds. A gap at NE may be original.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'. Compiled by Olive Alcock, Kathy de hÓra and Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999).
