On a slight rise in gently undulating grassland. A subcircular enclosure (N-S 40m, E-W 34m), in very poor condition, which was bulldozed c. 20 years ago. A low bank of earth and stone enclose the monument from N through E to ESE; no visible surface trace survives elsewhere. It is overlain by a partially collapsed field wall from SW through W to N.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'. Compiled by Olive Alcock, Kathy de hÓra and Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999).
