The National Monuments Service's description
On the summit of Knockmaa, c. 70m WSW of the largest cairn (GA042-064002-). A very poorly preserved subcircular cairn of loose stone (E-W 13.8m, N-S 13.6m, max. H 2m). Its appearance suggests that it may have been robbed for stone.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'. Compiled by Olive Alcock, Kathy de hÓra and Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999).
