The National Monuments Service's description
In level grassland. A partially overgrown poorly preserved D-shaped rath (N-S 48.5m) enclosed by a degraded bank of earth and stone now overlain by field clearance. A field wall cuts the monument at NW and SE, only slight traces of the bank survive to NE of this. Within the interior, built against the bank at SE, is a rectangular stone building (NE-SW; L 8m, Wth 5m) indicated by foundation lines, possibly a house.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'. Compiled by Olive Alcock, Kathy de hÓra and Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999).
