The National Monuments Service's description
Kinahan (1868, 131-2) refers to the existence of a church which appears to have been confused with the church (GA041-045----) in Ower townland. The latter church is named 'Kildaree Church' on the OS 6-inch maps but locally it was known as 'Killursagh or Killfursagh' and the site of Kildaree church was about a mile further to the E, 'near the hamlet still called by that name'. On the 1838 edition of the OS 6-inch map a small settlement named 'Kildaree' is shown in Lettera or Crossaun townland. Due to changes in the townland boundary it falls in Ardfintan and Lettera or Crossaun townlands on the 1922 edition of the map. Not located.
