The National Monuments Service's description
On the NW shore of Derryclare Lake, c. 120m to the NE of the ruins of 'Derryclare Lodge'. A scatter of metal-working debris along the shore suggests the presence of a metal-working site. No structures are visible. It appears to be eroding out of a drowned horizon (pers. comm. M. Gibbons January 2020).
