The National Monuments Service's description

On the summit of a hillock in rolling grassland. Well-preserved subcircular ringfort (N-S 31m, E-W 28m) defined by two banks and an intervening fosse. A scarp forms the inner enclosing element from N to E. The outer bank is present from SW through N to SE, and displays evidence of stone-facing best preserved at W. Well-defined entrance at SSE. A number of field walls cut the monument.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'. Compiled by Olive Alcock, Kathy de hÓra and Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999).
