The National Monuments Service's description

In pastureland c. 112m to the SW of the re-aligned river Clare. In July 2018 skeletal remains were uncovered during the course of gravel-quarrying operations on a low natural mound in an esker ridge. On investigation by staff from the National Museum of Ireland they were found to be those of an extended inhumed individual, orientated E-W, and though disturbed by the digger almost the entire skeleton was recovered. No grave cut was evident and no grave goods were found. Further examination of the bones indicated that they were those of a male, roughly between 20 to 25 years of age and radiocarbon dates indicated an early medieval date. A rath (GA029-139----) lies c. 200m to the WSW.
