The National Monuments Service's description
In level grassland bordering on bogland to SW. Poorly preserved subcircular rath (E-W 53m, N-S 48.5m) defined by two banks and an intervening fosse. The inner bank is present from SW to NW and from NE to SE; elsewhere a scarp forms the enclosing element. The outer bank survives only from SE to SW. Numerous breaches in the enclosing elements appear modern. A field bank cuts the monument at SW.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'. Compiled by Olive Alcock, Kathy de hÓra and Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999).
