The National Monuments Service's description

Near centre of an early ecclesiastical enclosure (GA027-034002-). A ruinous medieval church (E-W; L 21m, Wth 6.4m ext.) with two doorways and a broken window in S wall and a trabeate doorway in W gable. There is a small window in N wall, also a broken doorway at its E end giving access to a ruined sacristy. Ivy obscures the 'modern belfry' and window noted by OS Letters in W gable (O'Flanagan 1927a, Vol. 3, 36). There is a late dividing wall, with blocked doorway in the interior. (Purefoy Colles 1870, 268)

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. I - West Galway'. Compiled by Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1993).
