The National Monuments Service's description
In an area of heather-covered cutaway bogland in the Connemara National Park and located on a small plateau/promontory overlooking the Polladirk River to the E and Diamond Hill to the W. This possible house site (int. dims. 6.7m E-W; 3.1m N-S), rectangular in plan, is defined by rubble-built walls on the S, W and N sides. The S wall (Wth 0.75m; H c. 0.5m) is best preserved; that on the W side is difficult to define due to wall collapse and the N wall appears to be beneath a turf bank. The bank defining the E side appears to be the natural slope of the hill which falls steeply away from the site. A gap (Wth c. 1m) in the S wall may mark the doorway; its E side is clearly defined by a boulder. This monument was brought to the attention of the Archaeological Survey of Ireland by Helen Riekstiņš.
