The National Monuments Service's description
Located in cutaway bog on a gentle ENE-facing slope overlooking the Abhainn an tSraithín. Fragmentary sections of pre-bog walls extend over an area c. 400m by 100m. The longest stretch is c. 30m and at least one cross-wall is visible. Built of rough boulders but obviously robbed to build adjoining field walls to N.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. I - West Galway'. Compiled by Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1993).
