The National Monuments Service's description
On S-facing slope overlooking the inner reaches of Streamstown Bay. The monument consists of a subrectangular chamber (L 2.4m, Wth 1m) aligned ESE-WNW and closed at both ends by single slabs. A number of set stones to E and W of the monument appear to indicate further structure. Traces of a low mound are visible along W side. The chamber area has been completely dug out and the spoil deposited outside S side. The monument is clearly a megalithic tomb but the remains are insufficient to allow classification. (de Valera and Ó Nualláin 1972, xxiii, n.1)
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. I - West Galway'. Compiled by Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1993).
