The National Monuments Service's description

On the summit of a prominent bog-covered hill. Just visible on the surface of the bog is the top of what appears to be a white quartz standing stone. The stone pair on the hilltop in Crocknaraw (GA022-028----) is clearly visible to E.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. I - West Galway'. Compiled by Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1993).
