The National Monuments Service's description

Four stretches of old stone walls are visible on the island. At SW end, and directly associated with the E. Chr. ecclesiastical remains (GA021-026022-) are (a) a small triangular garden (40m by 25m). adjoining the monastic enclosure on the N (b) a stone wall running N to S from the SE corner of the larger of the two lakes on the island to a sea inlet (L c. 120m); (c) in a small gully about halfway along the island are intermittent traces of an old stone wall which runs across the island from NW shore to a deep sea inlet on SE side (L c. 215m) (the co-ordinates given above are for this wall); (d) at E end, running across the narrow neck of land above the landing place, is another wall (L 27m) built of large boulders (Wth 1.9m).
