The National Monuments Service's description
In undulating dunes on a NE-facing sandy bay at the N end of Omey Island, c. 150m to the E of another midden (GA021-007----). When initially visited in 1983 a band of mixed shells, burnt stone and charcoal (L c. 25m) was exposed in a scarp face overlooking the shore. It was covered by a layer of sand and turf (T 0.5m). On a revisit in May 2014 collapsed sections of overhanging sod visible at the base of the dune system indicated that the dunes are being eroded out. However, the midden was still clearly visible as a dark layer composed of mainly of limpet shells. (Killanin 1954, 95)
