The National Monuments Service's description
In an area of rough grazing. No visible surface traces survive of a small hachured feature marked on the 1931 edition of the OS 6-inch map, and named 'Gravel Pit' on the OS 1:2500 plan (surveyed 1912-16). Probably of 19th/20th century date.
