The National Monuments Service's description

Close to E bank of the Yellow River in low-lying boggy terrain. Marked within an enclosed oval tree copse (NW-SE c. 40m, NE-SW c. 30m) on OS 6-inch maps. Extensive field clearance has occurred here and apart from a blocked-up pool of water with a small drain leading from it to the stream, no visible surface trace survives.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'. Compiled by Olive Alcock, Kathy de hÓra and Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999).

Date of upload: 05 August 2010
