The National Monuments Service's description
To the W of a ringfort (GA017-057----). Killanin and Duignan (1967, 267) noted the existence of a 'prehistoric chamber tomb' in this td. Their information is undoubtedly based on Neary (1914, 113, no. 119) who noted that 'Near this … fort was a cromlech … on the westward side: the stones were removed years ago'. No visible surface trace survives.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'. Compiled by Olive Alcock, Kathy de hÓra and Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999).
