The National Monuments Service's description
On SE-facing slope of a small hill. A well-preserved circular earthwork (D 12m) defined by a bank of earth and stone which encloses a slightly hollow interior. A vegetation band running outside the bank from NW through E to S could be the last remnants of a fosse. Gaps in the bank at E and SSW appear modern, and a field wall cuts across it at SW and NW.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'. Compiled by Olive Alcock, Kathy de hÓra and Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999).
