The National Monuments Service's description
At the S end of Inishgort island and located c. 42m to the S the rampart of a possible promontory fort (GA009D046----), and N of a large storm beach. Recorded by Mr. M. Gibbons, this circular cashel (int. diam. c. 20m; ext. diam. c. 26m E-W; H 1.5-2.5m; H 0.3-1m) is defined by a grassed-over wall. Traces of the outer wall-face, one course high, are visible at NE. A house site (GA009D047002-) is visible in the SW sector of the interior. The SE sector is less well defined and grassed-over walling appears to be the remains of a possibly later building, which overlies the cashel wall. The remains of another later rectangular building (4m x 3m) abut the cashel wall at W. A midden (GA009D048----) lies 7m to the SSW.
