The National Monuments Service's description
Close to shoreline in an area of sand-dunes on SE side of Bofin Harbour. A spread of habitation material (L 200m, Wth 10m), exposed by wind action, is composed of a layer of burnt stones with one stone-lined hearth visible. Some 10m to N of it, a crudely constructed stone wall protrudes from the sand.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. I - West Galway'. Compiled by Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1993).
