The National Monuments Service's description
Some 100m SSW of a ringfort (GA007-110----). Poorly preserved subcircular rath (N-S 32m, E-W 30m) defined by a bank and external fosse. The bank survives from SW through W to NE; elsewhere a scarp forms the enclosing element. The fosse is visible at NE and S. Numerous gaps in the bank appear modern. A field boundary overlies the enclosing elements from NE through E to S.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'. Compiled by Olive Alcock, Kathy de hÓra and Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999).
