The National Monuments Service's description
On a rise in grassland to N of Checker Hill. Well-preserved subcircular ringfort (E-W 28m, N-S 23.5m) defined by an inner dry stone wall, intervening fosse and earthen outer bank. The inner wall, constructed on a platform, is now visible only intermittently but was described by Neary (1914, 120, no. 12) as 'a four foot [1.2m] wall, with foundation stones still in situ'. A field wall overlies the outer bank throughout. There is a well-defined entrance at SE and a probable souterrain (GA005-080001-) in interior.
