The National Monuments Service's description

Close to the summit of a ridge in undulating grassland. Very poorly preserved originally subcircular enclosure (N-S c. 50m) define by an earthen bank from SE through S to SW. A tree-lined scarp forms the enclosing element from SW through W to N and no visible surface trace survives elsewhere. Two rectangular structures of earth and stone abut the bank: (a) at SSW (N-S 8m, E-W 4.5m) and (b) to SSE (N-S 5m, E-W 4m). Field walls cut the monument at N and SE. A ringfort (GA005-054----) lies c. 170m to WNW.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'. Compiled by Olive Alcock, Kathy de hÓra and Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999).
