The National Monuments Service's description

Crossing the W-E Island river (Wth c. 8m) in a low-lying level landscape with a ridge rising c. 100m to the S. A bridge of two arches (Wth 6.25m), constructed of roughly coursed limestone has plank centering under the S arch, suggesting that the core of the structure, but not its outer faces, is medieval in date. There is a breakwater pier on the side, and the parapet on the S side is renewed.
