The National Monuments Service's description

Excavations in 1979 revealed an iron-working area. A bronze penannular brooch of 7th century date was recovered at the site (Anon 1900, 187, 193; O'Reilly 1901, 135, 150, 156-157; Turner 1983, 27-28, O'Brien 1987, 87, 88: O'Brien 1988, 515).
