Situated at the bottom of a valley on a S facing slope overlooking the N bank of the County Brook. Remains of a small rectangular building associated with an ecclesiastical enclosure (DU028-002001-). The E gable and portion of the S wall is still standing. The N wall survives to foundation level. Built of roughly coursed granite masonry. It has a round-headed E window under a segmental arch. There is a splayed ope at the W end of the S wall. The aumbry in the E gable has a graveslab as a lintel (see DU028-002006-).This is the church of Glen Munire, formerly an Early Christian foundation dedicated to St. Sillan and attached to Glendalough (O'Brien 1988, 520). The church in the early 14th century is listed among the possessions of the Knights Templars at their dissolution (O'Brien 1985, 20-21). It was enclosed until 1850.
