The National Monuments Service's description

The 1st. edition OS 6-inch map (1836) shows a series of enclosures which appear to be physically attached by field boundaries (Area L. E-W c. 130m, Wth N-S 110m). The OS Letters (1837) refer to a group of circles at Ballybetagh and an accompanying sketch map shows fields and enclosures (ed. O'Flanagan, 1927, 32, unpub.). There is no visible trace of the enclosure.
