The National Monuments Service's description

Possible cashel recorded by James Kyle in 2003 while carrying out an archaeological survey of the lands at Newtown and Glencullen.  Possible enclosure described by James Kyle as follows; 'The land in the southeastern corner of the field is on a direct line southeast of the Ring Barrow (DU025-047001-) and Standing stone (DU025-047002-).  Examination of the aerial imagery identified the remains of a possible sub-circular stone enclosure and field system (25m in diameter) in this area of the field. The features may be reflective of an earlier enclosure and field system which was in use prior to those present on the available cartographic sources' (Kyle 2023, 29).

Kyle, J. 2023 Archaeological field survey Lands at Newtown and Glencullen, Glencullen, County Dublin. Unpublished report on behalf of Deirdre Black,  Heritage Officer, Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council, 2 Marine Road, Dún-Laoghaire, County Dublin.
