The National Monuments Service's description

Price (1940, 150) describes a cairn located near the top of the ridge at Kiltalown which was removed in 1848. Within it was a burial chamber containing a skeleton and a food vessel. According to Handcock (1991, 150, 3rd. ed. ) this was a highly decorated bowl with vertical, horizontal and wavy lines. There was also a fragment of another urn with impressed cord-markings. This vessel is held in the National Museum.
