The National Monuments Service's description
Handcock refers to a long house attached to the castle which was apparently of the same age. Formerly part of it was used as a brewery, and the adjacent field was known as the hop garden. It was later used as a granary and stables (Handcock 1899, 34). The precise location of this building is unknown.
