The National Monuments Service's description
According to Howlett (1979, 7) a substantial portion of a motte and bailey survived in Killester up until the 1920s. The exact location of this monument is unknown. Referring to a 12th century house occupied by William Brun of Killester, she wrote that āa substantial portion of the surrounding moate and bailey survived up to the late 20āsā, quoting Father J Kenny in History of Coolock Parish 1934.
