The National Monuments Service's description
17th-century mass-house located in 'Carroll's house a butcher' on Thomas Street the precise location of which has not been identified. According to Donnelly (1904, 7); 'Early in 1630, Bulkeley drew up a report of all the Mass-houses in the diocese, which gives us interesting information regarding some of the chapels of that day. Those of St. Catherine and St. James in a chamber situated over one Charles Carroll's house, a victualler, in Thomas Street'.
