The National Monuments Service's description
This stone (see KD032-044001-) is one of seven ogham stones from 'Kileen Cormac' burial ground at Colbinstown, Co. Kildare (KD032-044----). This stone is often referred to as the 'bilingual Stone' as it has inscriptions in both ogham and Latin. Although bilingual Ogham stones are numerous in Wales, only three example are known in Ireland. This stone is 1.57m x 0.28m x 0.28m (converted from Macalister 1945, 22) and the inscription reads (ogham) OVANOS AVI IVACATTOS and (Latin) IVVEn/rE DRVVIDES. (Macalister 1945, 22, no. 19; McManus 1997, 61)
