The National Monuments Service's description
Excavations in 2000 revealed human remains associated with a layer that produced shroud pins, sherds of 17th century pottery, clay pipe fragments and pieces of glazed floor tile, one of which was line-impressed. These are thought to have been aligned on a standing element or tradition of the medieval friary of St. Francis (Doyle 2002, 84-85).
